Labour court suspends Joe Sang’s re-appointment as Kenya Pipeline MD

The Employment and Labour Relations Court has temporarily suspended President William Ruto's decision to re-appoint Joe Sang as the acting Managing Director of Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC).

Justice James Rika issued the temporary orders suspending the appointment of Sang pending the hearing and determination of a suit by the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).

"Pending hearing of the Application inter partes, a conservatory order is hereby issued, staying and suspending the appointment of the 1st Interested Party, Joe Sang, as the Managing Director of the KPC, "justice Rika ordered.

The Court has further granted KPC The board liberty to appoint an acting MD from amongst the senior management at the Corporation.

The judge further ordered LSK to furnish the court pleading challenging Sang's appointment to Public Service Commission, Attorney General, Cabinet Secretary Energy and Petroleum, the Board of Kenya Pipeline Company Ltd and Kenya Pipeline Company before the mention on March 10.
