The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced a mass auction of imported vehicles and other items that have overstayed at the Mombasa port.
In a statement on Saturday, September 30, 2023, KRA is inviting prospective bidders to check out the items on sale through their custom auction portal.
The taxman said the auction exercise will kick off on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the Kilindini Harbour in Mombasa County.

Over 100 cars of different brands are available for sale. Some of the models include Toyota Prados, Land Cruiser, Corolla, Hiace, Double Cabin, Condor station wagon, and Hilux.
Other models are Mercedes Benz, Nissan March, Nissan Note, Nissan X-Trail, Subaru Forester and Volkswagen Tiguan. A Peugeot 504 is also up for grabs.
Other items put on sale are package tyres, cooking oil jerry cans, beddings, drum bitumen, carpets, brake pad accessories and other household items.
All the items are currently being held at the Customs Warehouses
How to bid
KRA said interested bidders will view the items between October 2, 2023, and October 3, 2023, during office hours.
Bidders have also been asked to submit their documents on or before October 4, 2023.
The applications will then be publicly opened in the presence of all bidders who attend the auction and pricing unveiled. The highest bidder carries the day.
