Police in Kisii County are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a Kisii University lecturer whose body was discovered in his rented house on Saturday, December 26.

Peter Nyang’acha Moracha was last seen in public ten days ago.

The Environmental Science lecturer had deep cuts in the face, suggesting he was murdered, local authorities said.

On Saturday 4:30pm, Moracha’s brother went over to the deceased’s house in Mwembe, where he found the sibling lying lifeless in a pool of blood.

A report was, subsequently, made at Nyaura Location Chief’s office.

The area chief, Yobes Onkanga Mose, said chances were high that Moracha’s body had been in the house for at least ten days.

Moracha is a native of Nyamache Sub-County in Bobasi, Kisii County, said Chief Mose.

The lecturer’s body was taken to a Kisii hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
