A preacher from Kisii Town now claims he had envisioned God interfering with the voices of key politicians who championed the BBI agenda at Kinoru Stadium in Meru County last Saturday.

Peter Morwabe of the Gospel Embassy in Kisii County said while praying with his wife on the morning of February 29, God communicated to him in a vision that He was against the BBI agenda as “it is responsible for the increased divisions of Kenyans along ethnic and political lines”.

In an interview with K24 Digital, Morwabe said unless the planned BBI meetings are abandoned, God will continue interfering with the voices of the pro-BBI leaders during consultative rallies.

“I am requesting the president and the political class to suspend the BBI rallies. My church is not against the BBI, however, through the voice of God, I request that the BBI rallies be suspended. I foresee something [undesirable] happening to Kenyans,” said Morwabe.

“On Saturday, February 29, the Lord spoke to me on what is going to happen to Kenya if the BBI rallies are not suspended. And because the rallies began in Kisii, the Lord commanded me to order my congregants against attending BBI rallies.

“During the morning prayers that I held alongside my wife on Saturday, the Lord told me that He would interfere with the voices of those championing the BBI agenda. God wants the best for this country. The Kenyan politicians are aware of what is going on. Kenya has always been a united country, we do not need the BBI to preach that. We have never been divided until the politicians preach the divisions through political initiatives such as the BBI.”

Asked to make public his prophecy on what would befall Kenya should politicians ignore his advice, the preacher said: “I have not been shown any consequences, but many of the politicians will be losing their voices [during the rallies]. That will be God’s sign that He does not approve of the BBI agenda,” said Morwabe.

The preacher’s remarks come barely a week after ODM leader Raila Odinga strained to address the BBI rally at Kinoru Stadium in Meru because of a hoarse voice.

As he spoke, his voice kept on fading away as the podium charged.

"… nashindawa na sauti... lakini jana nilikuja hapa nikalala hapa..nilikuja na vijana. Wakaniambia baba hapa Meru nobody can stop reggae… [My voice is fading… Nonetheless, when I arrived here yesterday [Friday, February 28], the youthful residents told me that nobody can stop [the BBI] reggae in Meru,” said Odinga.

Assuming the emcee role, the former prime minister, thereafter, invited different speakers to address the gathering.
