Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia has expressed excitement over cancellations of Kenya Kwanza rallies in his backyard after heavy rains interfered with the campaigns set for Ol Kalou town.

Speaking after being cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Kimemia noted that he was grateful that the heavy rains prevented leaders allied to Kenya Kwanza from selling their agenda in the county.

Kimemia says it should rain all times

"I thank God for bringing rain that prevented them from coming here to hurl insults at Nyandarua leaders. I wish it was raining like that every time they (Kenya Kwanza) come to the County,” he stated.

His sentiments follow after the leaders led by Kenya Kwanza presidential running mate Rigathi Gachagua halted their rally in the town following heavy rains.

They later headed to Njabini, Kariamu, Engineer and Miharati where they managed to peacefully campaign without distractions.

Kimemia and his running mate Isaac Mwaura were the last gubernatorial candidates to be cleared by the electoral body.
