Ganze Member of Parliament Teddy Mwambire has taken over from Amason Kingi as the Kilifi County chairman of the Orange Democratic Movement party.

Kingi’s removal from his post comes after the County’s Chief continuous call for the formation of a political party from the coastal region, leading to ODM terming him as disloyal to the party that sponsored him to Parliament.

Due to his idea of forming a political party to steer the Coastal region votes, Kingi’s idea brewed differences between himself and Governor Ali Hassan Joho (Mombasa)

Mr Kingi in a past function- was quoted saying ODM had done little to deliver development to the Coastal region hence the new coalition, dubbed the Coast Integrated Development Initiative.

The initiative comprises Shirikisho Party of Kenya, Kadu-Asili, Republican Congress Party of Kenya, Umoja Summit Party of Kenya, and the Communist Party of Kenya.

Mr.Kingi’s removal from office comes barely days after the Kilifi ODM youth league chairman Samir Nyundo resigned from the Orange party and his conspicuously absence during ODM party leader Raila Odinga’s recent tour of Kilifi County.

Amidst the intensifying row in Kilifi County, relevant ODM officials have criticised Mr Kingi and vowed to work with Mombasa governor Mr Joho as they gear up for the next general election.
