KICC auctions items at throwaway prices

The Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) has today, May 24, 2022, announced a mass sale of disposable stores and equipment tender for as little as Ksh200.

Through a notice shared, the KICC stated that interested participants should submit their tenders in a single sealed envelope before Tuesday, June 7.

"The tenderer shall deliver the tender in a single sealed envelope bearing the name and reference number of the tender addressed to the procuring entity and a warning not to open before 7th June 2022, at 10.00 am," the notice read in part

"Within the single outer envelope, The tenderer shall place another sealed envelope containing the list of and prices of the items tendered for,"

The notice further stated that the items set for sale have been categorised into 37 slots with the cheapest item retailing for Ksh50 while the most expensive item retailing at Ksh30,000.

They range from TV sets which will be sold at Ksh2,000 and Office chairs which will range between Ksh200 and Ksh300.

Other items placed for sale are Office fittings which will be dished out to interested tenderers for free, faulty computers (Ksh300), Professional TV stands(Ksh3,000), Motorola radio calls(Ksh500), Printer LaserJet Pro 400 color HP(Ksh3,000), CISCO switch catalyst 3750(Ksh10,000).

Also on the list; Red office chairs which will go at Ksh500 each, Assorted Office chairs (Ksh500 each), Brown banquet seats(Ksh 300 per piece), Conference chairs(Ksh400 each), Old conference chairs(Ksh300 each), Old carpets(Ksh3,000), Plastic chairs(Ksh200).

How to Bid

The viewing will be done at Aberdare/Lenana Hall, KICC building at 10.00 am on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.

Interested bidders will be required to put a deposit for any item tendered for in the amount indicated in the schedule of items and prices to bank accounts as displayed on the official website.

KeNHA Auction

On Thursday, June 9, another auction exercise for motor vehicles by the Kenya National Highways Authority(KeNHA) will be staged at KeNHA's corridor 'A' office off Athi River-Namanga interchange next to Mavuno Church.

According to a notice shared by the authority, interested bidders will be allowed to view properties starting Wednesday, May 25.

This comes as a follow-up of the initial event that ended on Friday, March 15.
