Tens of Kibra residents on Friday evening stormed Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi demanding to view the body of their Late MP, Ken Okoth.

The constituents’ demand comes just an hour after Ken Okoth’s personal assistant, who spoke to the media on Friday, told the public that Okoth’s body won’t be viewed by people outside his family on Friday or Saturday.

But in a bid to show their love for their deceased lawmaker, tens of Kibra residents walked and rode on bikes to the morgue, where they demanded to see the remains of their representative to the National Assembly.

“We loved him, and we just want to see him for a final time. We don’t believe he is no more,” one Kibra resident was heard saying while outside Lee Funeral Home.

The facility’s security, however, managed to confine the crowd outside the morgue.

Ken Okoth died on Friday afternoon after a long battle with Colorectal cancer.

The legislator’s PA said Okoth was “unable to utter even a word”, when he was taken to Nairobi Hospital on Thursday morning.

Okoth, who died aged 41, is survived by a wife and children.

He was serving his second term in office at the time of his death.
