Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho has issued guidelines for attending President-Elect William Ruto's swearing-in ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, September 13, 2022.

Speaking during a presser, Kibicho noted that 20 heads of state would grace the event set to be held at the Kasarani International Stadium.

"We will have limited invitations of 2,500 VIPs on the dais. We have confirmations from presidents and heads of states across Africa totaling 20 in number,

"We will have all the protocols associated with visiting heads of state ready by foreign affairs and KDF and all those people who are concerned with the arrival of dignitaries," he stated.

Additionally, Kibicho, a member of the Assumption of the Office of President Committee, noted that members of the public who wish to attend the event would be expected to have settled at the stadium by 7.00 am.

VIPs on the other hand are expected to have arrived at the venue by 9.00 am before the program begins at 10.30 am.

At the same time, Kibicho stated that the committee would work hand in hand with traffic officials to ensure smooth traffic flow.

"Arrangements for common pooling have been made to reduce the number of vehicles around the stadium. Vehicles chauffeuring the select VIPs will bear special stickers to enable traffic officers to identify them at the venue. The assumption committee has also adopted stringent security measures to manage the crowds," Kibicho added.

"For those who must use their private vehicles to bring themselves here, we have various categories of stickers and people will be directed by traffic accordingly depending on the stickers they will be using""
