A middle-aged man is expected to be arraigned in court after he beat his wife to death on the evening of Tuesday, September 13, 2022, after a domestic dispute at their home in Highrise estate, Kibera.

According to a police report seen by K24 Digital, the deceased, 37-year-old Magdalene Wambua Katinda, arrived home from work when a quarrel ensued between her husband Constatine Wambua and her.

"At around 10:00 pm, Magdalene a mother of two came home from work on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, and a quarrel ensued between her and her husband. The husband got furious and held her on the neck threw her on the bed and then banged her on the table.

"It was then that she collapsed and he tried to resuscitate her but in vain. He sorts the assistance of his neighbours who responded and took her to Mbagathi hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival," the police report read in part.

The husband did not report the matter to the police until Wednesday, September 14, 2022, when Thomas Mwendwa of Resource Centre Highrise was informed of the incident, visited the scene of the crime and took away the couple's children to the Lang'ata police station to make the report.

Police officers visited the scene and the deceased's husband was arrested and placed in custody.

The body of the slain woman is lying at the Mbagathi Hospital morgue awaiting an autopsy.
