Fresh details have emerged on the mysterious death of two people at Titanic dam in Juja, Kiambu County.

It has now occurred that the two were removed from the deep facility fully stripped, a development that has left residents querying what they could have been doing before the incident happened.

Murera Ward MCA Ngatha Wambiri divulged that the two were naked at the time of removal from raging waters.

The body of the female victim was recovered on Tuesday night while that of the male was removed from the dam today, January 18, 2022.

It has also emerged that the two may have managed to get out of the car they were in while inside the dam as it appeared that they had tried to scamper to safety.

“The two were unclothed by the time of recovery. We however cannot, at this time tell what caused their drowning,” said Wambiri.

Sleuths are still piecing information to establish the identity of the two.

“We are doing all we can to establish who the two persons are. Currently, we are only relying on the details we will find in the vehicle once it has been pulled out of the dam,” Phyllis Muthoni, the Juja Sub County police commander said on phone.

Tucked about four kilometers from Thika super highway, the about 2-kilometer-long dam has, according to area MCA Ngatha Wambiri seen over ten people die.

The phenomenon is surrounded by tens of hotels, bars and other entertainment joints where revelers throng especially during weekends to have a taste of a different life.
But with continued loss of lives at the spectacle,

Wambiri said he would sponsor a law at Kiambu County assembly that will compel the hotel owners to fence the dam in a bid to avert further incidents.

While warning Kenyans against enjoying stimulative drinks while near the dam, Wambiri took issue with the Fisheries Ministry for failing to conserve the area.

Instead of being a deathtrap, Wambiri called on the government to add fish at the dam and recreate the facility to become an income generating project for locals.

“We are very disturbed that the government is building new dams to boost water supply in ther areas but ours here has become a deathtrap. It is time for the fisheries department to transform this particular one to economically empower our people. The facility has seen over ten lives lost and this should stop,” said the MCA.
