The university Vice-Chancellor Prof Paul Wainaina was Tuesday, July 12 sacked after he refused to hand over part of the institution's land to the government for World Health Organisation to develop an emergency hub.

Addressing the press on Wednesday, July 13, Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha said he had nothing to do with Wainaina's sacking insisting that all public land belongs to the government.

"The government may decide that this school, the site is good for a nuclear facility, once it passes through the cabinet, who do you think you are that you are going to say you are not going to follow.

"I do not want to pronounce myself more than that, all land belongs to the government and when they decide to use it for another purpose there is a manner in which it is taken," Magoha said.
