A Kenyan billionaire identified as David Njuguna has donated an airplane to Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga.

The tycoon acquired three airplanes during an auction by the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA).

While speaking to international media, David Njuguna stated that one of his newly acquired planes will be for personal use, the other plane will be used for business while the third one will be donated to the opposition chief in his 2022 campaigns.

"The cargo one is for business, the jet one is going to be for personal use, and the other one we are going to support Baba (Raila) in his campaigns, we are going to donate one to ODM," he said.

The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) organized the auction to get rid of aircrafts that had been abandoned at various airports across the nation.

Out of the 17 aircrafts that were put up for auction, 13 aircrafts were bought with the highest bid being Ksh5.1million.

KAA had sent an invited the public two weeks ago for the auction. The aircrafts were abandoned at JKIA, Wilson Airport, Moi International Airport and Lokichogio Airport.
