Kenya Power has announced a new partnership with the National Youth Service in a move aimed at streamlining its services.

In a public statement released on Tuesday, November 9, the electricity service provider said it has partnered with NYS to conduct a countrywide exercise to collect data on all pre-paid and post-paid meters.

"Kenya Power has partnered with NYS to conduct a countrywide exercise to collect data on all pre-paid and post-paid meters," the statement by Kenya Power read in part.

The service provider further announced regulations to be adhered to by NYS officers involved in the data collection exercise.

"NYS officers conducting the exercise must be in uniform, and must have their national ID to facilitate identification," Kenya Power added.

The government agency further said that NYS officers will neither be collecting money nor disconnect power lines on behalf of Kenya Power.
