Kenya Power has identified a faultline on the Suswa - Embakasi high voltage transmission line that resulted in the electricity outage in Nairobi and parts of Central Kenya on Wednesday, January 12.

The power distributor said KETRACO engineers are already at the site to fix the fault.

"Engineers are on the site to repair the line and pave way for the restoration of normal power supply by 5 pm this evening," Kenya Power said in a statement.

Areas affected include Embakasi, Kitengela, Athi River, Industrial Area, parts of Langata, Jamhuri, Kilimani, Kileleshwa, CBD, Hurlingham, Syokimau, and Westlands.

Yesterday, almost the whole country experienced power outage for about four hours.

The power supply agency attributed the outage to a collapse of a high voltage line in Embakasi.
