Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) issued a notice informing Kenyans of power interruptions in select parts of the country.

The utility firm, in a statement, said there would be a scheduled outage from 9 am to 3 pm on Monday, November 28, 2022, in parts of Nyeri and Nandi counties.

The areas affected include Ndiriti, Gathambi in Nyeri county and Tulon and Kapkagaon in Nandi county.

National outage

The scheduled outage on Monday comes days after a blackout on Thursday, afternoon November 24, 2022, left many parts of the country without electricity.

KPLC experienced that a 'system disturbance' caused the blackout in various parts of the country.

"We have lost bulk power supply to various parts of the country due to a system disturbance and we are working to restore normalcy within the shortest time possible," KPLC said.

However, many parts of the country including Nairobi remained without power until around 8 pm.
