Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions affecting four counties on Monday, September 11, 2023.
In a statement released on Sunday night, the utility company said the power interruptions will begin from 7 am to 5 pm.
The counties which will be affected include Kiambu, Nandi, Embu and Kirinyaga county.
In Kiambu county, areas such as Thindigua, Paradise Lost, part of Kiambu town, Tiganga, Karuri, Banana, Njathaini, Junction, Kambaaa, Fourways, Kiamumbi, Kanunga, Acme, Kagwe, Gitwe, Marama, Githunguri town, Ikinu, Githiga, Gathaithi, Riabai, Muchatha, Kamiti corner, Githiga, Norbook and adjacent customers will experience power blackout from 7 am to 5 pm.
In Nandi county, the blackout that will start from 10 am to 5 pm will affect areas such as Kabongwa, Tulon, Kilibwoni, T/Fact, Mosoriot, Mbelekenya, Mutwot, Kipsimo, Kamzee, Itigo and adjacent customers.
As for Embu County, the power blackout will be witnessed in Kyeni Hospital, Kyeni Girls Sec, Makutano Mkt, Mbua Waganagwo, Rukuriri T/Fact, Konjo Mkt, Mbui Njeru Mkt, Kornagombo, Eno Wool, Kubukubu Mkt Mukuuri Gaikama Mkt, Kothukiri, Soweto, Munyutu Mkt, Idanyingi TBC, Mururi C/Fact, Idangung, Ndiu, Gitare Mkt, Njeuri, Gotumbi Mkt, Gichegeni, Kathageri Mkt, Thuchi Lodge, Kigumo Mkt, Micundu C/Fact, Mukuria Sec, Kathunguri Mkt, Kariru Mkt, Koveti, Kegonge Sec, Kianganari Sec, Mwembeni, Kiracha Mkt, Karandini Mkt, Karamani Sec, Kibugua Mkt, Njuri Sec, Kiamuriuld, Gitogoto Pri, Kimunyuru Booster and adjacent customers from 9 am to 4 pm.
"In Kirinyaga, part of Mucagara Mkt, Thumaita T/Fact, Thumaita Mkt, Thumaita East Sec, Kamugunda, Karumande, Karumande C/Fact, part of Kirinyaga town, Guama C/Ract, Kamweti Research & adjacent customers, will be affected," Kenya Power added.
