Abdinoor Noor Omar, a Kenya Police Reservist who was on Thursday, November 12 abducted by suspected Al-Shabaab militants, has been found dead.

Omar was kidnapped at the Dawaduba Hills in Mandera County while herding his cattle.

His mutilated body was on Friday night (November 13) found in Dawaduba Hills by police officers who were pursuing the abductors.

“Omar had asked to be excused from work that day. He left behind his firearm. Later Thursday, his family reported that Omar had been abducted while herding his cattle in the hills,” said a cop who spoke to K24 Digital in confidence.

Besides harming Omar, the suspects made away with his motorbike, police said.

Omar’s body was collected from the scene and taken home for burial as per Islamic customs.
