Former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile has reported Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko to the police for allegedly threatening him.

Ndile reported the incident to the Machakos Police Station on July 10.

But the Machakos officers referred the matter to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters in Nairobi for further action.

"The above named has reported a case of threatening vide our OB 77/9/7/2020 against HON. MICHAEL MBUVI SONKO (Nairobi governor) but due to the personality involved we have referred the complainant to your office for assistance," said the police in the letter to the DCI head George Kinoti.

In a video that has been widely circulated, the Nairobi governor is heard insulting the former MP accusing of him shoddy workmanship for an unstated project in Embakasi.

Ndile had called Sonko to demand payment after having complete the project, a request that infuriated the governor.
