A clinical officer at Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital died at 1pm Tuesday after a short illness.

Wycliffe Alumasa died at his home in Shikangania Village, Lurambi Constituency in Kakamega County.

The deceased’s wife, Veronica Alumasa, told K24 Digital that her husband had been ailing for a while.

“The two of us fell unwell recently. However, I healed but he did not. Today (Tuesday, December 8), at around 1pm, he complained of being weak. He, however, died while we were planning to take him to hospital,” said Veronica, who did not disclose what her husband was ailing from.

Alumasa’s samples were recently collected and taken to Kisumu for COVID-19 analysis. The results are yet to return.

As at the time of publishing this developing story, Alumasa’s body was yet to be taken to the morgue.
