The Senator of Machakos Boniface Kabaka is alive and still receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital, Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua has told K24 Digital.

The governor’s assurance comes on the back of rumours suggesting that the lawmaker succumbed to his ailment early Thursday.

“I can confirm that the senator is still alive, only that his condition has not improved since his admission to hospital on December 4. He is still in critical condition. I urge those spreading rumours of his death to respect the legislator and his family at this difficult time,” said Mutua.

The governor’s remarks were reiterated by Kabaka family spokesperson, who said in a statement Thursday afternoon, that the lawmaker is still receiving treatment at the Nairobi hospital.

“We wish to inform the People of Kenya and Residents of Machakos County in particular that Senator Hon Boniface Mutinda Kabaka, Advocate is recuperating at Nairobi Hospital. Please avoid or ignore the distressing rumours and fake news and continue praying for the full recovery of our brother, father, friend, pillar and senator,” says the Thursday statement.
