Media personality Waihiga Mwaura's wife Joyce Omondi had a heartwarming message for him as he reported to his new job.

Waihiga left Royal Media Services-owned Citizen TV after 14 years for BBC Africa on May 2, 2023.

Joyce says Waihiga's debut at BBC on June 5, 2023, is significant to the family since it was the day her father passed away.

"...June 5th. Two years ago on this very day, my daddy rested and went to be the Lord. God in His mercy has given us something to celebrate today," she wrote.

Joyce also shared the background story of how the day came to be.

"At the beginning of this year, my beloved husband @waihigamwaura #theonehekeptforme and I were in London. I was ministering @kiccengland 's New Year Service. In between engagements, we made time to visit the BBC offices (1st photo) just to say hello to the friends and colleagues he met during his tenure there a few years ago as the BBC Komla Dumor Winner (2nd photo). We didn't realize it then, but it's like retaking the photo was prophetic. We had no idea then that God had something great in store," she wrote.

"Yaarni, to God, be all the glory. The Master Orchestrater of our lives🙏🏾So proud of you my love! Shine on!"

Waihiga's show Africa's Focus will also air every weekday from 8:30 pm on K24 TV. Meanwhile, Dira ya Dunia will also air on K24 TV from Monday to Friday at 10:00 pm.
