Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho says he has sent for diving experts from South Africa to help multi-agency team in the Likoni Ferry tragedy.
The bodies of Mariam Kigenda and her daughter are yet to be retrieved from the bottom of the Indian Ocean in the Likoni channel.
“It has been a painful wait for the family and relatives of Mariam Kighenda and her daughter as rescue operations intensify at the Likoni channel. We understand the complexity of the search operations being the reason for the delay, and therefore we are asking for patience,” said Governor Joho.

Joho's offers three comes days after Kigenda's car slid from MV Harambee and plunged into the Indian Ocean on Sunday evening.
The Govt says the state is committed to ensuring the bodies are retrieved from the sea.
Speaking at the Likoni Ferry channel on Wednesday, Government Spokesman Cyrus Oguna said many Kenyans — online and offline — are mistaking the Indian Ocean depth for that of a swimming pool.
