Detectives based at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Thursday morning nabbed an unestablished amount of heroin and marijuana following a tip-off.

They confiscated the illegal substances after conducting a search at Cargo Shed which is located in DHL Warehouse within JKIA airport.

The search unearthed two suspicious-looking consignments with the first one declared as clothes for personal use that were in transit from Juba, South Sudan to Cambodia but contained heroin.

The second consignment had a dress concealing marijuana which was en-route to France from Entebbe, Uganda.

The heroin was concealed on three blouses each with 8 large buttons and three skirts each having 17 buttons. The narcotic was hidden inside the buttons.

Police officers dismantled the buttons and found a powdery substance which upon testing turned out to be the illegal substance.
