Jirongo takes plea in Sh50m fraud case linking Moi’s son

Former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo has appeared before Milimani Law Courts and denied several charges in a Sh50 million land case. 

The charges include obtaining execution of security by false pretences, making a document without authority, uttering a false document and giving fabricated information to a person employed in the public service.

Jirongo is accused of giving false information linking the late Jonathan Moi to Sh50 million land fraud dispute.

He is alleged to have committed the offences between 1992 and 2015.

The former MP has been freed on a bond of Sh500,000 with surety of similar amount or cash bail of Sh200,000.

The court has set mention for pre-trial on September 11.
