Stephen Ngila Nthenge, the man who slashed the hands of his wife Jackline Mwende in July 2016, has been jailed for 30 years.
Machakos Senior Resident Magistrate Brenda Bartoo said the prosecution proved beyond any reasonable doubt that Ngila committed the heinous crime.
Ngila, who was charged with attempted murder, has 14 days to appeal the decision.
Speaking after the ruling was delivered, Mwende, a resident of Mwala in Machakos County, said justice “has finally been served”.
“My life changed permanently after both hands of mine were slashed by the convict,” she said.
