Sabina Kerubo, the chief inspector at Ugunja Police Station in Siaya, has been arrested in connection with Star newspaper correspondent Erick Oloo’s death.

Oloo, 41, was found dead in Kerubo’s house early Thursday, November 21. He had deep cut injuries in the head.

According to Ugunja Sub-County Police Commander, Ibrahim Muchuma, Kerubo, 36, was arrested alongside her daughter, house-help, and a middle-aged man identified only as Victor, who is said to be a chief in Ugunja Town.

Muchuma told K24 Digital that Kerubo’s landlord, Moses Ochieng, reported at Ugunja Police Station that Kerubo had -- on Wednesday night -- gone to his house to request for his vehicle so that she could take her “ailing” husband to hospital.

The landlord said that upon reaching Kerubo’s house, he saw Oloo lying lifeless on the floor, with deep panga cut injuries in his head.

Ochieng, thereafter, alerted police, who arrived at the scene of crime and arrested Kerubo, her daughter, house-help and the said-Ugunja Town chief, Victor.

Police have begun investigations into Oloo’s death.
