Inspector General Mutyambai tells police to integrate with community

Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai has urged police officers to uphold discipline and professionalism in execution of their duties in line with the Service Standing Orders.

The IG in his series of visits to various security installations and specialised formations also emphased on the need for police to integrate with the community in order to get intelligence through community policing initiatives. 

Inspection tour

He spoke yesterday during an inspection tour at the Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU) and the Administration Police Service Senior Staff College in Emali.

Since Tuesday, the IG has visited all the formations under the command of Deputy Inspector General, Administration Police Service Noor Gabow notably the Rapid Deployment Unit headquarters in Embaksai, Security of Government Building, Uhuru Camp and the Border patrol Unit.

“My biggest interest is to see all the services under the National Police Service work together. Let us support each other in our various responsibilities,” Mutyambai said.

As the person in charge of protective and border security, Gabow is the line commander for the Border Police Unit, Security of Government Buildings Unit and Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit officers.
