Former journalist Linda Oguttu has come out to clear the air over claims that she had resorted to working at construction sites commonly known as mjengo after exiting the media industry.

The mother of one expressed shock at the information shared by an online news platform after the story was aired in a manner that suggested that she had hit rock bottom after missing out on the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) position.

"The picture doing rounds was me at Mwache dam, barely a few weeks before the President went there for a groundbreaking. I was consulting on the project. It's a picture that I posted that someone took out of context for clickbait," she stated.

The former anchor also wondered why people despised the job when it was a job like any other. She subsequently narrated that she began her career with a salary of Ksh4,000 while doing menial jobs.

The former KTN journalist noted that any job mattered so long as it catered to one's needs and paid bills.

"People, stop sending me this story. I have hawked things in this town.1st salary was 4K, living in Gachie.Najua kuhustle. Assume I work in a mjengo, shida iko wapi? As long as we put food on the table. The best part is eating fresh food from kibandasky. Mjengo pia ni kazi tusitishwe!" she added.
