ICRC fires staff who racially abused guards in Nairobi mall

An International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) staffer who allegedly called a security guard at Lavington Mall a monkey has been fired.

In a statement, ICRC apologized for the ugly incident.

“Yesterday, we received reports of the offensive behaviour and abusive language by one of our staff at Lavington Mall. Today, we met with witnesses as part of our investigation. As of this evening, the person’s assignment in Kenya has been terminated. We want to apologise for the disturbance and to anyone who was insulted,” said ICRC.
