A man has been charged for threatening to slaughter his ex-wife over property dispute.
Jared Omondi Ominde who was charged at Kibera Law Courts is alleged to have sent a text message to his ex-wife through his mobile number a message that read 'am slaughtering you then naenda Kamiti', and another that read; 'am killing you today'.
According to a police report, on June 5, 2020, the complainant Vivian Achieng Ouma reported at Kayole police station that her ex-husband Jared Omondi had confronted her at her business premises located at Jarvian Apartment in Chokaa.
The suspect was accompanied by four people including a lady and a lawyer, who allegedly threatened to wipe her out and the entire family because they have a property dispute that was pending before court.
"She further reported that the suspect has a history of violence against her and that she has reported the matters at various police stations. The ex-husband has previously been arrested but no charges have been preferred against him"read the police report in part.
The suspect had been arraigned and charged in court in August with one count of threatening to kill and was released on a cash bail of Ksh100,000 before Residence Magistrate William Tulei.
The matter was coming up for hearing today but did not proceed since the trial court didn't sit.
