Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has heaped praise on residents of Kisumu a day after their rally in the lakeside city was disrupted.

Sudi's statement comes hours after rowdy youths disrupted a political rally that was organized by Deputy President William Ruto in the Kondele area in Kisumu.

Sudi said despite the violence, DP Ruto's team were highly welcomed in Kisumu from their hotel to Kondele where a few youths disrupted their rally.

"I have seen many people complaining about our tour in Kisumu, I want to personally tell them that all was well. We received a warm welcome from the youths who came for us at our hotel," Sudi said.

"We held good rallies a few meters before the airport, at Jua Kali and within Kisumu town. From what I realize is that people from Kisumu are good people," he added.

Speaking on the chaos, Sudi said that their rally was not disrupted by the youths but by those who were incited by local politicians and the Kisumu county government.

He, therefore, urged youths to challenge their leaders that against practising tribal and regional politics.

"I have never seen a better rally like the one we had in Kisumu I, therefore, urge residents from the region to walk all over the country without fear. I urge the youths to challenge their leaders that it doesn't help to be bought cheaply to disrupt a political rally," Sudi said.
