Hussein Mohamed takes over from Kanze Dena as new Statehouse spokesperson

Hussein Mohamed has been appointed as the new State House spokesperson.

His appointment was announced on Friday, October 14, 2022, in a notice confirmed by President William Ruto.

The former Citizen TV anchor who had previously served as President William Ruto's communications director has taken over from Kanze Dena who served the position under former President Uhuru Kenyatta's regime.

"It is notified that His Excellency William Ruto has on, October 14, made various appointments to the senior ranks of the Executive Office of the President," the presser released by outgoing Head of Public service Joseph Kinyua reads in parts.

Following his appointment, Mohammed will among others make statements on behalf of the head of state, and issue government updates.

Among other notable figures handed State House jobs are former PS Kamau Thugge, David Ndii, Felix Koskei, and Josephat Nanok.
