Tens of police officers who have had their base in Nairobi were this week transferred to other regions.
The officers drawn from Kamukunji, Huruma and Central Police Stations were redeployed to other counties, with sources saying that the move was aimed at curbing corruption in the three stations.
A letter seen by K24 Digital sent to the three Officer Commanding Stations (OCS) in Central and Kamukunji Police stations the officers should report to their new stations by Friday, November 29.

“Release the officers to report to their new stations by November 29, 2021. Submit casualty returns on departure and arrival,” the letter read in part.
All the transfers were approved by Deputy Inspector General Edward Mbugua.
One officer identified as Abdi Samid Ibrahim, who is a constable was also ordered to report to his new work station in Mombasa immediately.
K24 Digital has established that already the replacement of the officers had been picked from the counties of Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Kisii, Bimet, Kisumu, Taita Taveta and Bungoma.
A source privy to the ongoing transfers told this reporter that the move was made following a series of complaints in the manner in which the officers within Nairobi especially within the city center were conducting themselves.
Some of the accusations table against them include; graft, indiscipline and brutality.
The officers are also accused of extra judicial killings.
Nairobi County has been leading on matters brutality in the country as per to records and a survey conducted by the Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA).
The report further revealed that the brutality was being recorded in 15 out of the 47 counties in the country.
This means that the officers who were redeployed from Nairobi will see their allowances slashed by the National Police Service.
However, those who have been redeployed to Nairobi will be smiling all the way to the bank due to an increase in allowances.
