Controversial city preacher and jazz musician, Hellon Joseph, now claims his former friend and schoolmate, Quincy Timberlake, was a “conman” and “cybercriminal”, who “used witchcraft” to have his way.

Speaking on NTV Tonight on Tuesday, July 16, Hellon said he was against the relationship of Quincy Timberlake and ex-KTN news anchor, Esther Arunga, because he [Hellon] felt the affair wasn’t founded on genuine love, but obsession, insincerity and manipulation.

Hellon Joseph’s statement comes on the back of allegations that he was the one who introduced Quincy Timberlake to Ms Arunga, who is now staring at a possible jail term after she, on Monday, confessed to an Australian court that she lied so as to protect her husband, who is accused of killing their young son in 2014.

“At no given time did I ever support that relationship. I respected Esther as our daughter, a 30-year-old who was making her own choices,” Hellon told NTV.

“When a human being, who is 30 years old tells you: ‘I have chosen this person as my spouse’, then you cannot go against them,” he said.

-Quincy’s 'crime’ history-

“What has turned out is very sad. I gave Quincy advice, I gave Esther advice, but they did not take it. The advice I gave Esther was that she was marrying a bad guy. We had a meeting, [which brought together] my wife, myself, Quincy and Esther in December 2010 in my house in Kitisuru.

“I confronted Quincy with my evidence, including some of the motherboards he used to remove after conning people on the internet. He removed the motherboards so that the CIDs could not access the information and all that,” alleged Hellon.

The 42-year-old preacher said upon confronting Quincy, he [Quincy] owned up to the allegations.

“The guy started shaking, he even cried. But then, that was the day Esther turned against me. From that point onwards, she blocked me, she completely disconnected herself from me.”

-Witchcraft-

“Quincy was not only manipulative, but he used witchcraft; black magic. I am a spiritual person, I am a preacher, [and, therefore, I can tell when someone is using dark forces]. Quincy told me before he joined my church that he used witchcraft and wanted to reform.

"I told Esther about these things; but, Esther was a stubborn person. If she took a certain angle on a particular matter, it was very difficult to turn her around,” claimed Hellon Joseph.

“Esther Arunga was brainwashed by Quincy,” insisted the controversial preacher.

The jazz musician said despite knowing that Quincy had a dirty past, in 2010, he accepted to facilitate his transformation.

“I am a man of God. So, I accept everybody. That is what we preach about – transformation. So, anyone who comes to me with an aim of becoming a good person is welcome. But, if they prove otherwise and, maybe, prove that they have other ulterior motives, then we have to call that out. So, yes, Quincy was and is a conman and he is a cybercriminal,” alleged Hellon Joseph.

-Hellon and Quincy history-

Hellon Joseph claims he knows Quincy from back in the day, when they attended the same primary school in Migori.

“We went to the same school, we were desk mates in primary school. Yes, we were friends when we were children, we were neighbouring each other in upcountry, where I grew up.”

In 2010, Hellon says, Quincy reached out to him and claimed he and Esther Arunga had known each other for a while, and that he wanted to kick-start a relationship with her.

“He said he knew Esther from before, and Esther, as my cousin, was staying in my house at the time.”

-Hellon: I mentored Arunga-

“When Esther was high and flying, I was the one mentoring her. Esther lived in my house beginning 2009. Quincy came in 2010. Esther joined my church in 2008. I helped her with accent, how to pronounce words correctly, how to dress the right way, I helped her even with weight loss; those days TV stations wanted these skinny anchors.

Hellon alleges that Quincy was so calculative that he knew how to position himself as he endeared himself to the former KTN news anchor.

“When Quincy found out that we were in church, he joined the church to get Esther. When Quincy found out that we had political ambitions, he joined politics to get Esther. So, everything he did was to endear himself to this hapless woman,” claimed Hellon.

“It is unfortunate that Esther made those choices. She was advised. She never listened. At the end of the day, choices have consequences.”

-Arunga’s lie-

Ms Arunga is said to have lied about circumstances under which her son, Sinclair Timberlake, suffered fatal injuries at a family home where she lived with her husband, Quincy Timberlake, in Brisbane Australia, in June 2014.

Ms Arunga, 38, is now set to be sentenced on Thursday, July 18, according to the Australian Associated Press.

Mr Timberlake, was on Monday charged with the murder of the three-year-old boy with Ms Arunga pleading guilty to being an accessory to the murder.

An autopsy revealed that Sinclair died “as a result of a severe blunt force such as punching or stamping or similar,” the AAP reported on Monday.

According to Ms Arunga, Mr Timberlake kept saying “there’s a devil in his (Sinclair’s) stomach, I have to get it out”.

The former news presenter told the court she was afraid to speak because she was afraid of Mr Timberlake who had a strong arm which even an adult couldn’t withstand a punch from.

“I was terrified of being alone and I felt terrible because my husband was sick as well,” she told police.
