Former TV journalist Jacque Maribe had made hints that she may have landed a job in President William Ruto's administration before she later made a ‘clarifying’ statement.

On her Insta Stories, the former Citizen TV star had posted a message which gave all the hints that she might have been appointed as the Communication Director in the office of the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Her post looked like a super endorsement or confirmation of the rumour that has been doing rounds on social media.

She picked a post by social media user Nzau ya Musau that had indicated that she was the incoming Director of Communications in the office of the Deputy President, pinned it on her Insta Stories and wrote; “Mambo tu ya God…”

She has however come out to ‘set the record straight’ saying she’s not been appointed to the office. “I am not the Director of Communications at the Deputy President's Office. Thank you for the well wishes, calls, and texts. Mambo ya God,” she posted on Insta Stories.

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire and if she lands the job, Maribe will be making a comeback to the limelight after she disappeared from the screens in 2019 when she resigned from Citizen TV, a decision that came amidst a nasty crime case where she was accused of aiding his then-boyfriend Jowie Irungu in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.

She would also be rising above rumours of depression that had recently rocked the internet.

Recently, she was forced to address reports that she had turned to binge drinking and was on suicide watch due to several difficulties. In an Instagram post, she stated that she is not about to give up the struggle to succeed.

"This life no balance. When good things happen in your life is when saitan (satan) sends his agents on overdrive. Tupo site! We are going to no evil destination. God is ever so faithful. Unone, ukonde, wewe be happy with your life (and) leave others to their happiness."

Suicide watch? Depression? By who? When? Why? I don’t even drink. I’m happy and healthy. But ni life, sasa watu wakitaka clicks tufanye?,” she wrote.
