Harambee Stars forward Henry Meja joins Swedish giants AIK

Tusker FC striker, Henry Atola Meja, has signed for Swedish top tier team AIK Fotboll, commonly known to football fans as simply AIK. The Swedish giants announced the signing of the teen sensation on their social media accounts, disclosing that the prolific striker penned a 5-year deal valid until September 1, 2026.

"AIK Football has agreed with Tusker FC on a transfer of the 19-year-old Kenyan national team forward Henry Atola Meja. The agreement between the parties is valid until September 1, 2026," the club tweeted.

Through an official communication, Tusker FC confirmed the departure of the teenager, who played a key role in their road to victory last season.

"We would like to confirm that our striker Henry Meja is joining Swedish top tier side AIK on a five-year deal after completion of talks between the two clubs. Meja signed a contract with AIK that runs until September 1, 2026," the club said.

The brewers chairman, Dan Aduda, heaped praises on the young striker, christening him the club's standout player in the just concluded season. Aduda says that Meja's lucrative deal gives them motivation to hand more youngsters the chance to excel.

"We have been talking with the club for the last few days and we have reached an agreement for his (Meja’s) transfer. Meja has been one of our standout players this season and it gives us great pride to see him make the transfer.

"We want to wish him all the best and thank him for what he has done for us this season. We will endevour to give more youngsters a chance to excel just as we did to Meja and it gives us great pride to see them prosper.” ,” said Tusker FC chairman Dan Aduda.

Meja will share the changing room with his Harambee stars teammate Eric Ouma 'Marcelo', who has plied his trade with the Swedish top tier side for years now.
