The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Noordin Haji, has ordered the arrest of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko over alleged misappropriation of county funds.
In a press conference Friday, Haji said there was sufficient evidence to charge the county chief and several Nairobi County Government employees with graft.
In October 2019, the anti-graft agency, EACC, launched investigations into alleged irregular payment of Ksh196 million towards the construction of Dandora Stadium. It is that alleged improper payment, among others, that has landed the flamboyant county chief in trouble with the DPP.
