Govt releases Sh14.2bn free learning cash: PS Kipsang

The Ministry of Education says that it has released over Sh14.2 billion for the free secondary and primary education programmes.

This was confirmed by the Education Principal Secretary (PS) Belio Kipsang on Friday, October 9, 2020.

PS Kipsang said that the Free Secondary School Education progamme was allocated the bulk of the cash, Sh13,185,057,124.

Primary schools, Kipsang said, will get Sh1,167,304,213.40.

Teachers have already been in school for almost two weeks waiting for learners with Grade Four, who are following the Competency-Based Curriculum, Standard Eight and Form Four candidates set to resume their studies this coming Monday.
