Gospel musician Rosemary Wahu Kagwi was on Thursday morning charged for dangerous overtaking, driving without a valid driver’s license and causing obstruction.

Wahu was arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi.

The court was told that the Power Power hit-maker engaged in the offences at 10:10am on Thursday, November 21, on Ring Road in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.

She was driving a Mercedes Benz 440L without a valid driver’s license, the court heard. It is said she failed to carry with her the document, contrary to the law.

The third count on the charge sheet reads that she dangerously overtook several vehicles while driving the said-Mercedes.

Wahu is also alleged to have obstructed other road users by positioning her vehicle on the pathway of other motorists.

Wahu said she did not understand the obstruction charge leveled against her, and asked Magistrate Elector Riani to explain it to her, which the magistrate did.

Wahu was released on a cash bail of Ksh15, 000 after she denied the three counts.

Her case will be heard later Thursday.
