Gor Mahia CEO Lordick Aduda has delved into Harambee Stars debacle in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt terming it a huge disappointment to taxpayers who pumped millions of shillings to facilitate the team’s participation in the event.

Aduda said the whopping Sh250 million the government doled out for the team’s preparations as well as the additional Sh20 million donated by Betin should have been replicated with a good show and that taxpayers need an explanation by Football Kenya Federation (FKF) on the team’s indifferent performance.

“Stars fared disappointingly and we need to go back to the drawing board and find solutions.

It should not be business as usual as taxpayers are entitled to an explanation and moreover, the federation should roll out negatives and positives in the event and chart out the way forward.

It’s a sad epitaph that Kenya has never advanced past the preliminary stage in AFCON yet the country is teeming with talent,” said Aduda.
