Starehe MP Charles Njagua popularly known as 'Jaguar' has rejected Deputy President William Ruto's offer to have him nominated as a member of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) after he failed to clinch the UDA ticket in the stalled exercise that saw his opponent, the EALA MP Simon Mbugua handed the ticket.

In a seemingly bitter response to Ruto, Jaguar told the second-in-command to instead nominate Mbugua's wife for the position.

He insisted that Ruto's offer was belittling him having served as a sitting Member of Parliament.

"I want to tell William Ruto here without any fear, that the seat he wanted to give me should go to Mbugua's wife. You cannot remove me here as a sitting MP and take me to Arusha. Give Mbugua's wife that position because he (Mbugua) will not be elected here," he said in a video seen by K24 Digital.

Jaguar suffered a major blow after Mbugua who is his rival was handed a UDA ticket for the parliamentary seat.

The youthful MP lost in the opinion polls after the UDA primaries were cancelled over alleged security issues.

While Jaguar claims that voters in the capital constituency were shortchanged, it is believed that his supporters and those of Mbugua clashed leading to the postponement of the exercise by UDA National Elections Board.
