Residents of Ndhiwa in Homa Bay County on Wednesday morning paralysed operations at Ndhiwa Divisional Headquarters demanding the arrest of a suspect who allegedly raped and killed Tiffany Achieng on New Year’s eve.

The angry residents said the 12-year-old’s defilement brings to six the number of defilement and rape cases in the recent past in Ndhiwa.

On Christmas Day, the residents said a woman was raped just a mere 24 hours after she had delivered.

Joining the residents at the police station, Homa Bay County Woman Rep Gladys Wanga and Nairobi County Speaker Beatrice Elachi condemned the act and called for speedy investigations.

The two lawmakers claimed that the county’s defilement incidents rank second to Narok County.

Speaking to the press Ndhiwa OCPD confirmed the incident saying the area had recorded a high number of defilement cases recently.
