Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) Health Director Dr. Ouma Oluga has advised attendees of the Azimio la Umoja event held at Kasarani Stadium to ensure they get vaccinated against Covid-19.

Oluga said that there are enough vaccination points at Kasarani Stadium where thousands converged for Raila’s big event on Friday, December 10.

“Please ensure you get vaccinated before you leave Azimio la Umoja. We have enough vaccines for everyone and enough vaccination points at Kasarani Stadium. That way you become part of protecting the health of Kenya,” Oluga said.

Oluga’s statement comes after the government received a donation of 1.17 million doses of Johnson and Johnson vaccines from the United States. The donation was received by Ministry of Health officials led by the chair of the task force on vaccines against Covid-19 Dr. Willis Akhwale.

“Today's consignment now brings to over five million the number of donations from the US government. Tomorrow morning the government expects another consignment of 1million doses of the Pfizer vaccine pushing the US donations to over 6 million,” the Ministry of Health said in a statement to newsrooms.
