Police have launched investigations after an 80-year-old German national was killed by unknown assailants at Esampukike village in Loodokilani, Kajiado county.

The lifeless body of Wilko Milicinovic was discovered in his house on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

Police reports indicate that the body of the deceased had deep cuts on the head and his left eye was gouged out. His hands and legs were tied with a rope.

The assailants are also said to have ransacked the deceased's house and stolen his laptop.

The incident was reported to the police by Milicinovic's daughter-in-law at 10 am on Tuesday.

The woman told the police that she was informed of the incident by a worker who had spotted traces of blood in the entrance of the deceased's house.

Detectives who reported to the scene discovered blood stains in the bedroom with the body of Milicinovic lying in bed. They also established that the back door of the room was broken.

Confirming the gruesome incident, Kajiado Central Sub-county Police Commander Daudi Loronyokwe said detectives are yet to establish the motive of what he termed as cruel murder.

"It is on a sad note that I confirm to you the unfortunate incident of loss of life. The deceased is well-known by locals and his neighbours. All preliminary investigations point to a cruel murder," the police boss said.

"The widespread blood stains indicate a possible struggle from the sitting room to the bedroom. The house has been ransacked and so far we have only been able to know that the deceased laptop is missing."

The police commander said investigations into the incident are ongoing adding that no suspect has been arrested so far.

"A security multi-agency team have launched investigations into the incident to get to the root cause of the bizarre murder. So far no suspect has been arrested," he added.

The deceased lived with his son and daughter-in-law albeit in different homesteads situated within the same compound.

He also had a worker who reported to work at 8:00 am and left by 5:00 pm.

The body was moved to Shallom Community Hospital, Athi-river in Machakos, pending autopsy.
