Police in Gatundu North, Kiambu County have commenced investigations to unravel the mysterious dumping of dead bodies in the area.

According to Bernand Muriuki, the Sub-County acting police Commander, another body was found dumped at a coffee plantation at Karuri village leaving locals in fear of the growing incidents.

The yet to be identified body of a middle-aged man is reported to have been dumped in the area in a crime that police suspect was committed elsewhere.

"We have started investigations to establish who committed the crime, where and how the body found its way to Karuri. We have since taken the body to General Kago funeral home in Thika," he said.

Mysteriously, Muriuki said that the unidentified body had no injuries or strangulation marks but revealed that sleuths were on course of probing every detail to unearth the syndicate that is now changing routes from the previously infamous Kamae forest.

Previously, murderers have been killing people elsewhere dumping them at the forest situated along Thika-Mang'u highway, a few kilometres from cold Gakoe village in the most interior parts of Gatundu North.

In April this year, Benjamin Imbai's body, one of the four missing men in Kajiado county was found in a thicket near Gakoe before it was transferred to Thika's general Kago morgue.

Fearful Karuri residents have petitioned the government to beef up security in the area by increasing night patrols to scare away criminals whom they said have also been stealing their livestock.

"This is scary but we hope the police are doing something to ensure there is peace at Karuri. Just the other day, unknown people had wrecked fear in our village by almost going in every homestead stealing our domestic animals leaving us poorer, " John Muniu, a resident said.
