Police officers have launched a manhunt for a gang that robbed three pedestrians three phones worth Ksh63,500 and cash amounting to Ksh80 along Haile Selassie avenue at the roundabout on Monday, October 31, 2022.

The three were accosted by a motorcycle that had two pillion passengers who were armed with two pistols, a knife and a panga.

They were then ranked and their personal effects were stolen including phones and money.

"Thomas Mutiso, Benson Osoro, and Isaac Kimani were accosted by two Motorcycles with two pillion passengers who were armed with two pistols, a panga, and a knife at Haile Selassie roundabout. They were robbed of three phones all worth Ksh63,500 and money amounting to Ksh80 with other personal effects," the police report seen by K24 Digital read in Part.

Investigations have been launched into the incident to arrest the perpetrators.

Man shot dead in Donholm

Elsewhere, police in Donholm have launched a manhunt for a gang that shot a man three times before snatching disposable cups and escaping with a motorcycle with an unregistered number on Monday, October, 31,2022.

The victim identified as Nicodemus Mbuvi was shot dead shortly after depositing a cheque at a family bank.

The robbers who accosted him snatched the carrier bag which contained disposable cups.

After the snatch, it was then that he was shot four times before the gang escaped to in new destination.

"It was reported that Mbuvi was accosted by the gang of two after depositing a bank cheque at Family bank. The gang snatched a carrier bag from the victim but it only contained disposable cups. They shot him four times before escaping with an unregistered motorcycle," the police report stated.

The police revealed that the victim was shot three times in the leg and once in the chest.

The body of the deceased was moved to Mama Lucy hospital Morgue awaiting an autopsy.

The police recovered ksh100 and the victim's phone in his pocket.

They also recovered one spent cartridge from the scene.
