Four people have been charged before Kibera court over claims that they demolished a perimeter wall valued at Ksh 520,000.

Obadiah Mutisya, Sanfan Jaoko, Gabriel Orege and James Okoth, were said that on November 7, 2021, around 11:30 pm within Woodley estate they demolished a stone perimeter wall and security guards houses property of Peter Kamau Warari.

On that particular day, the security guards were allegedly guarding the premise when the accused persons and about 50 other men arrived at the plot armed with mattocks, chisels, crowbars and hammers.

They claimed that they had court orders directing them to demolish the wall in favour of Obadiah Mutisya who also claimed ownership of the plot.

According to court records, efforts by the security guard to defend the property were futile forcing him to call the owner who alerted the police but upon arrival, a section of the wall was already down.

It is stated that the police stopped them from further damage and summoned the said Obadiah Mutisya who was claiming the ownership.

The officers then arrested the other four men who were arraigned in court for property damage.

They however denied the charges and were directed to appear in court for a mention on November 25, 1021, pending further directives.
