Four police officers are set to be charged over the disappearance of Philip Otieno Ondiro who went missing in February 1, 2015.

According to Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA), Chief Magistrate’s Court in Nairobi issued warrants of arrest against the four on Wednesday October 28, 2021.

They are; Francis Githonga, Carlistus Ekidor Apalia, Samwel Mokaya Makori and Alex Munene.

"The investigations revealed that four men armed with guns stormed a house in Kiamaiko within Huruma, Nairobi, pulled out Ondiro, bundled him into a waiting car and drove off," IPOA said in a statement on Thursday.

Reports on the matter were received by IPOA from different sources including, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Internal Affairs Unit of the National Police Service and one of Ondiro’s friends.

"The ODPP concurred with the Authority’s recommendations that four officers be
charged with the offence of abducting in order to murder," IPOA added.
