Former Kamukunji MP aspirant Ibrahim Ahmed dies

Nairobi politician Ibrahim Ahmed alias Johny has died.

Ahmed died on Friday morning, April 9, after a short illness.

The politician, who once vied for the Kamukunji parliamentary seat, also served as the deputy secretary-general of the Jamia Mosque.

Ahmed was once the Orange Democratic Movement point man in Eastleigh between 2007-2008.

He will be buried today at the Lang’ata Muslim cemetery in compliance with Islamic funeral rites.

Many people took to social media platforms to mourn his death, eulogizing as an honest man.

“It is a sad day in Nairobi kwaheri, Hon Ibrahim Ahmed he was honest and I cannot believe that he is no more,” said Hon Samwel Mundia.

ODM Director of youth Affairs Benson Musungu said: “Rest in peace brother. We will really miss you. You never missed shouting out someone’s name when you meet them in the city. RIP Kiongozi.”

“The passing of businessman and leader Ibrahim Ahmed Johny this morning has come as a great shock to me and many Kenyans. He will be remembered as a kind-hearted man who loved people,” Abdirahman Mohamed said.
